Welcome to 2005

Many exciting and new things are happening at and in association with Feldspar and generally in the Macedon Ranges and Spa Country.

Feldspar participated in the Australian Open Garden Scheme for the first time in November and again in March. The weather was beautiful for both, and visitors enjoyed fine food by Wildings, wine by Mt Macedon Winery and the intimate garden market was a great success.

Once again Feldspar will be open on October 1st and 2nd from 10am to 4.30pm. An enormous amount of energy has gone into Feldspar over the summer months and the garden, assisted by the wonderful rains and warm weather, has flourished. Feldspar will donate the gate fees for the next opening to the Trentham Fire Brigade. We hope you can join us.

Feldspar House has had a mini makeover with the addition of a new sunroom, a second bathroom and a home theatre set up in the loungeroom for you to enjoy your favourite DVDs on the big screen.

Anna and Chris Wilding have moved on from The Cosmopolitan to pursue Indulgence Tours of the region, encompassing wineries, food producers, galleries, gardens and places of interest. Enjoy a great day out, meeting wine makers, producers and artists and sample the best the region has to offer. Wildings now offers fabulous catering and event management and have been kept busy with weddings, cocktail parties, birthdays and food products (available at local markets).

The Cosmopolitan has been purchased by a lovely couple Lisa and Nilly, who are associates of the Morris family. With expereience at Frangos & Frangos and Sault in Daylesford, we are sure they will provide fantastic food and wine. We have also had many reports that The Chimney is well worth a visit, along with the cafe at Garden of St Erth and the Blackwood Hotel.

The past twelve months have been very productive at Feldspar, but we have still managed to find time to visit some great places the area has to offer, enjoy the odd round at Trentham Golf Club, and participate in many special events.

We are continually discovering hidden secrets the area holds and would like to share them with you and your friends.

Carol seems to have spent most of 2004 creating in the garden but looks forward to using her creative talent in her studio in 2005. 'Paints not Plants' is her new motto.

Our in-house masseur, Erica Bear, has treated a number of our guests to her wonderful massages and is available for relaxation & therapeutic massage 7 days a week.

Feldspar Indulgence Tours

Did you know that Feldspar at Trentham was named after the mineral 'Feldspar' that was found in the mineral pools? Feldspar is associated with the production of fine porcelain and was mined here along with gold.

Our family of free range chooks has grown and we now have some lovely spangled girls, which are quite a scream.
